Our Women’s Ministry is very active at Northgate. We have an annual Women’s Conference that takes place here at Northgate, sponsored and led by Northgate women.
Here is some information about one of our Women's Ministries:
Our Mission is WOMEN; Wonderful Opportunities to Meet Each others Needs.
What are the general demographics of your group? [average age, marital status, etc]
We have all ages of women meeting with us and all from different backgrounds and different marital status. It doesn't matter, we're just all WOMEN. We don't limit it to any particular group. Some of the activities we do might appeal more to a younger demographic and some might appeal more to an older group of women. We try and have something for everyone to get the women of Northgate connected.
When and where do you meet?
We meet at different times and places depending on what activity we're doing. We try and have a planned activity each month, but sometimes we have more. In 2006, we met at North Campus, South Campus, and the parking lot for events away from Northgate.
What is a typical meeting like for your group?
We usually open up with a simple devotional and then prayer, and then we get right into the activity. If we're going to a concert, a conference, or just a girl's night out, depending on the location, we may just meet in the church parking lot and carpool together.
What types of topics does your group cover?
We don't usually cover "topics." Some of the activities we've had are: a game night at the church, a Supper Soup-Off with many homemade soups to try, BUNCO nights at the church, a chocolate party, an ice cream social, the "Potter's Hand" pottery demonstration, planned shopping trips, participation for community fundraising, sending boxes of needed items to our missionaries, going to Christian concerts, etc.. We have sponsored a Woman's Conference open to area churches for the past number of years. We try to have fun and get ladies involved.
