The weekend of June 5 and 6th was a special time for Northgate. After spending a month talking about breaking the 80/20 rule: that 20% of the people do 80% of the work in any organization, we decided to break the standard.
Coming to church and expecting a “normal” service, attenders were surprised to see only Anthony on stage to lead us in singing and an empty red couch behind him. Then, after a video of Andy encouraging us to not just “do” church but to “be” church, people exited into the lobby to find tables of hundreds of different opportunities to do small acts of kindness with great love in Jesus’ name in order to change the world. There was a great deal of excitement and creativity as people chose how they were going to go out into the community to let others know just how much God loves them. Northgaters left the parking lot “like an army” going out to impact people for the Kingdom of God. It was a wonderful reminder of how blessed we are when we step into the work God has called us to do for Him.
